Summary0001730: objects in the object tree cannot be reordered
Descriptionexcept for non-symetric binary operation(diff) it makes sense to be able to drag-and-drop reorder the objects in the treeview. Complex models often tend to have quite a complicated structure and it would be very helpful if I could rearrange them so that things are ordered in a logical way.
Steps To Reproducecreate one object
create another
try to drag and drop the last in front of the first

For the upcoming Path module I've been experimenting with reordering in DocumentObjectGroup-based objects... It works pretty well, it's just a small Task interface to change (reorder) the contents of the PropertyLinkList property. It doesn't affect the general structure of FreeCAD objects, but could serve efficiently the cases where order is important (Drawing pages for example). It might be an idea with less potentially dangerous impact than reordering the root Objects list of the document...

Has any progress been made on this? This bug is over two years old.

@gahzinia
FYI Some bugs have only been solved after 6 years! There are not that many developers and they are all volunteers with each their own interests.

It's now possible to reorder PartDesign features in 0.17-dev but @ickby has mentioned he may disable it because of topological naming issues which may easily break a model. Other workbenches do not support object reordering.

@Kunda1
IMO yes.
