Summary0002938: Allow Parametric Placement of Planes for New Sketches
DescriptionWould it be easy to expose the "Offset" field of the "Choose Orientation" dialog box to spreadsheet/function values?

Also, it would be nice to be able to use this dialog box to define an arbitrary plane orientation with a normal vector, but I suspect that would take a bit more work.

@digitalgoose
Please open a PartDesign subforum thread and bi-directionally link ticket <=> thread to generate conversation. Also FYI, "PartDesign Next" in 0.17 is a major overhaul of the PD Workbench.

@digitalgoose creating a datum plane and attaching a sketch to it should allow you to do what this ticket is talking about. To me, it seems like this ticket is invalid. Is there something I'm missing?

This functionality can be achieved with datum planes.
